Copenhagen Fashion Week with Saadet Ozturk

The Scandinavian fashion scene, known for its sleek minimalistic yet bold street style, is considered innovative when it comes to boundary-pushing creativity. In recent years, modest fashion has also joined the mix and the result has been powerful.

This season, we’re given the opportunity to experience Copenhagen Fashion Week through the lens of modest fashion influencer Saadet Ozturk, inviting her to share her style diary for this season's shows and festivities, and how she prepares for the fashion event.

What’s your favourite thing about fashion week?
Playing around with outfits without caring if it’s “too much” or overdressed – that’s the fun of it! And of course, meeting lovely and inspiring people along the way.

How do you prepare for fashion week?
Pinterest was my main source of inspiration. I really wanted to embrace my own style while adding a personal touch. Accessories played a big role for me – it’s not just about wearing clothes, it’s about styling them.

How would you describe your style during fashion week?
Colourful, playful, yet bold and chic.

What three designs stood out to you from the shows?
Herskind – I loved the fringes; they made the look playful, but paired with the bomber jacket, it felt bold and chic. Also the layering on the yellow outfit is also such an inspiration for hijabis. Adding a pullover knit and mixing different silhouettes with various fabrics creates the perfect playful-chic balance.

Freya Dalsjø – I’ve always been in love with capes; they’re incredibly chic. Freya showed so many variations I couldn’t even choose a favourite!

Munthe – Their jumbo sequin skirt stole my heart! While picking my outfit, I immediately asked if I could wear it. Turns out, I wasn’t even supposed to see it since it was reserved for the runway, haha.

What did you love most about Copenhagen Fashion Week?
It might sound strange, but the chaos and the constant running from one show to another. It gave me so much adrenaline and kept me energized all day.

Which three words describe the street style in Copenhagen?
Effortless, experimental, Chic.

Where was your go-to lunch/coffee spot – and what did you order?
The cardamom bun from The Roe Bar! Oh my god, I loved it so much

Modesty meets movement: The vision behind Nazla's activewear collection

Representation matters. When modest women see activewear made with them in mind, it reinforces the idea that they belong in those spaces whether that’s in the gym, on the court, or outdoors. It’s a...
