Wedding Guest Edit: Chic Layering

The Winter wedding season is in full swing and the art of layering is at it's peak, serving warmth with your outfits and breathing classic accents with each stackable piece.

Here are a few tips to remember when you are layering your outfits:

  • Start with a slim base, so luxe basics such as long sleeve tops, turtlenecks, tights or slip dresses work well. You want to start slim and add shape as you layer.
  • Don' be afraid to play with lengths - so you can style a maxi dress with a shorter coat to add dimension to your outfit.
  • Layering with different textures will elevate your outfit - and so the key here is to piece together different fabrics such as a satin top with a tweed coat or a leather skirt with a fur coat.
  • Don't forget your accessories - they can help tie your outfit together with the addition of brooches, belts and scarves.
  • Here's you chance to try different hijab styles that will elevate your outfit, while maintaining your modesty.

We've put a list together of Winter wedding-worthy pieces we are loving right now:

Yasmin Jay - Layali Robe and Layali Pants

The Layali Robe is a boldly embroidered robe, adding volume as a layering piece as seen below with the Layali Pants. It's versatility allows it to make a strong statement piece when worn on it's own, layered with luxe basics underneath and paired with a subtle hijab and the right accessories.

By Sara - Paloma Dress

A bold gown with so much personality - the Paloma dress is designed from an olive-grey metallic silk taffeta, with a beautifully ruched bodice and a heavily gathered voluminous skirt, allowing a gorgeous dramatic flow to be incorporated into your every step. The dress in itself is a statement piece and so you can go very simple with the hijab and accessories or if your style is more on the eclectic side, a pastel yellow maxi coat and solid gold accessories will definitely make your look pop.

Ella K - Zakia Midi

If you love a more simple dress that oozes elegance, the Zakia Midi is the perfect MBD (modest black dress) to wear to this season's events. Think short fur coats, a maxi faux leather trench, sparkly heels or one's with a pop of colour  The styling options are endless, which means it can be repurposed with every wear - we love a good outfit repeat!

Muza

The Celeste Skirt and Darla Trench Coat piece together an edgy sophisticated ensemble, encapsulating the colour of the season in a structured feminine silhouette wrapped in vegan leather. The pair are already a solid duo and require minimal accessories, the only decision you have to make is would you go dark or light for the top? - we'd go light blue.
