Modest and Sustainable: the Ramadan wardrobe you'll want on repeat
Words like wardrobe and fashion don't usually come to mind when we are planning for Ramadan. We get it! At face value it seems like a material worldly matter, the kind we try to avoid during one of the most holiest months of the Muslim Calendar.
But hear us out for a moment ... If you create a mini capsule collection of Ramadan worthy outfits and make them the centre of your current wardrobe, it can actually save you time when it comes to choosing your outfit of the day, or when you'd like to zhuzh it up for iftar dinner outings.
Our number one rule is: choose outfits that are suitable for salah, so you can fulfil your prayers on time.
If you haven't guessed it already, abayas are probably going to be your best friend, and if you want to mix it up a little, choose between 2-3 skirts and 2-3 dresses to alternate between. Don't be afraid to be an outfit repeater, as a matter of fact you should embrace it and be proud - because if you aren't going to be sustainable in Ramadan, then when?
If you don't enjoy outfit repeating then perhaps shift your focus to accessories - like shoes, bags, brooches; or outerwear layering with blazers, cardigans, and vests. You can even try being experimental with your hijab styling, textures and prints - which are trending at the moment.
Remember the looser the fit the better the modesty.
